Therapeutic Recreation at BPCC is geared toward providing recreational activities that will promote self and team esteem. Therapeutic Recreation stresses good health habits and safety precautions. Our motto is “Recreation is for Fun.” (You can’t win all the time, but you can always show Good Sportsmanship.) Our program utilizes low organized games to enhance good age appropriate peer interactions, (i.e. improve social skills).
Therapeutic Recreation is an excellent way to work on important skills like cooperation/teamwork & good sportsmanship. Therapeutic Recreation at Brewer-Porch Children’s Center incorporates the following areas: (as indicated on the Day Treatment sheets).

All staff are valued and important for “A Successful Recreational Experience” for our kids. Please make sure (staff) are engaged with our kids while in the gym.
Staff are to position themselves in the area with kids as to be pro active and involved during Therapeutic Recreation.
Therapeutic Recreation is offered daily for 50 minutes to an hour. All classes must follow the schedule as it guaranties all classes’ fair access to the facilities.
