Our residential programs accept children between the ages of 6 and 18 who have various emotional and behavioral health needs. Many of these children have a history of abuse and neglect and may have required multiple hospitalizations or other out-of-home placements.

The outpatient programs serve children ages 3 to 18 whose emotional and behavioral needs have prevented them from functioning in mainstream classrooms. Children in our autism program have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and receive assistance from Behavioral Care Workers in completing educational and daily living tasks.

What hours and days of the week do full-time and part-time employees work?

We operate on a 24-hour basis, with the majority of our full-time shifts consisting of a Monday-Friday schedule on one of our three standard shifts: 7am-3pm; 3 pm-11 pm; and 11 pm-7am.

Our part-time positions are mostly weekend-only positions and are usually 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am.

What does a Behavioral Care Worker do?

A Behavioral Care Worker’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of our clients and to carry out the goals and objectives for each client as determined by what we call the treatment team. The treatment team is a group of individuals with expertise in a variety of areas that provide input into the best treatment approach for that particular child.

The starting pay for Behavioral Care Worker is $13.00 per hour. The advertised salary range may be lower, but the University has established that all employees should make a minimum of $13.00 per hour.
