To ensure that all BPCC employees are aware of the limits and provisions for compensatory time.
Non-exempt employees may accrue compensatory time in lieu of overtime. The maximum balance an employee may have on record is 160.00 hours at any given time.
An employee must submit a request in writing to his or her supervisor prior to the work being performed for which he or she wishes to receive compensatory time in lieu of overtime. The request must include the date range the employee is requesting to receive this compensatory time. If the employee fails to give the date range, it will be in place until August 15 of the following year. Supervisors should forward a copy of the request to the human resources department at BPCC to be placed in the employee’s file.
